why SC mods with Supergrip grip always have the ring end of the SP grip covered the tip (like malimo G3 and Toro MX) ? not vice versa?
The reasons probably differ between modders. It's likely due to either better aesthetics, wipers feel better, widespread convention, and any combination of these. (Personally I prefer the using the smooth side for Wipers). Nothing more than that probably.
Thanks for you reply. As a wiper spinner, i definitely use the smooth side, also it looks better with uni tip
Any dr grip subs?
Are there any UK replacements for a Dong-A computer sign pen (comssa)?
(as I can't get them via amazon)
any subs for old sarasa grip? trying to make vain comssa
Aged anyballs, doesn't cut the weight but it hits the feel
Earlier today I bought an American dr grip for shits n giggles, and I snapped the clip off for better spinning. The barrel has a flat section where the clip once was, which is rather irritating. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fill in this area to make it more like the rest of the barrel?
If you're in America, you can get old Sarasa or you can trade with us crazy muricans
How to trade or how to get Sarasa?
how to get em/ where to buy em
Office Depot sells them in 5 packs of black or in a pack with pink, red, green, blue, and purple.
Hi, im considering buying a Dr Grip CL Play border (black and orange model). How does it compare to the "original" japanese shaker used for penspinning?
Thanks in advance
What caps would fit on a ComSsa body, Dr. Grip grips on top, and Dr. Grip tips?
The grip from Vega by Pilot is similar.
They're like the G-Spec or "Center of Gravity" (USA version) of the Dr. Grip Pen/Pencil. The grips are pretty thin and light. The inside part (black/orange) is usually squishy, but some G-Spec varieties have normal grips (offroader, skytime). Play Border are pretty nice cause they're already precut. The tips are pretty light as well (2 grams), unlike the OG Dr. Grips (4 grams). G-Spec/COG Dr. Grip tips are really small though so you can put them in G3 caps and stuff.
TL;DR - Playborder = G-Spec =/= OG Dr. Grips.
Reynolds is what comes to mind. Don't think the Play Border tips would fit in the caps. If you get 2 Play Borders and 2 Signos, you can make a Waterfall.
Namae caps fit as well, but those are pretty hard to find nowadays. You can also fit G3 and RSVP caps, but they'll need a bit of tape on the barrel.
I think Comssa caps are the best choice to put on a Comssa imo. I wouldn't put Dr. Grip Shaker tip on it, as the barrel is super thin. G-Spec tips should be fine.
I forgot to mention, what about spinning a Play Border unmodded? Is it any good?
It's pretty front heavy so probably not. It is spinnable. If you get the shaker version (pencil), be sure to remove the shaker mechanism.
I haven't spun with a G-Spec/COG for like 8 years so don't remember how it is tbh someone else should chime in. I prefer the OG Dr. Grip Shaker over the G-Spec, but they're even more front heavy lol
edit: Ease spins a Dr. Grip so it is spinnable. It's not easy, tho.
Are watercolor barrels rare?
