How do people around you perceive psing?

ah, ive only been spinning for almost a year and only one person has actually started spinning seriously after seeing me. A lot of people think its weird but people are starting to get used to me pen spinning. My parents hate pen spinners and stereotype them as 'fat nerdy men who still live with their parents' so it is a bit difficult trying to make them understand they're wrong.

Every time I find a new hobby my mom will be interested (or pretend to?) at first, then eventually come around to hating it and calling me "obsessed". PS was no different, happened around the 3-month mark so since then (~3 months ago) I've just been spinning when she's not around. My dad doesn't give two shits lol

Nobody really minds at school - science teacher occasionally makes a jab at how ridiculous the whole hobby is (I got two or three people to learn/do fundies when they're thinking in class) but otherwise it seems to go unnoticed save the original 'whoa, that looked pretty cool' comment. Also, I milked the fuck out of it on my personal ig account, at least until my real-life friends started to get tired of spinning clogging their feeds up - ended up making a PS account because of that. Also because Windwalk went through my follower list and followed almost everybody on it, even private accounts, which I found mildly disconcerting to say the least (for a week or so I kept getting questions about it).

My sister often reminds me to ask my grandma to 'get those double pens for my stupid chopstick twirling ' seriously. I have had some pen mods for quite a while now, just learned my fundamentals with a chopstick. My dad bases all his arguments against pen spinning from before I finished leaning a TA. My family really do not get it.

Ah, that sucks, dad has threatened to somehow ban me from pen spinning as I do it as I study and multi tasking must slow me down. He doesn't realize I do it without thinking.

Once my grandma asked me to learn her some tricks because it would help gain hand flexibility.

Well, one thing you should know about my grandmother, she sometimes talk nonsense. She said it one time and then forgot entirely that I spin pens. Doubt she would even try it in the first place.

You know after ps alot during class when Im bored in highschool and meeting new people, I kinda started to wonder if people are going to start knowing me as the nerdy asian kid who can twirl his pen in a corner. Not sure about you guys and whether they think its cool or not I rather not be known as that kinda guy who just spins his pen all day tbh. Something to beware if you decide to spin in public

i think its fine at school cos people know me and im not a steriotypical pen spinner (long hair, skinny, asian, glasses, friendless) so im good. i don't spin in public tho cos im not great...riv is fine cos somehow people really like him even though he hates people in general. just don't be so self concious, most people wont care as much as they think you do too.

I meet 3/5 of that criteria lol. I would try to not be discouraged to spin around people. I'm pretty bad but I'm constantly spinning in public because I want to practice.

"OMG that doods spinig a pen wot losrrrrr!" People aren't going to do that to you at school. Honestly most people will probably think it's awesome or won't care at all. I do advice against spinning heavy pens while in class and the teachers doing there thing, for obvious reasons. Since I do all kinds of weird stuff at school like yoyoing/ps/kendama/etc, ive experienced a whole host of different situations all the way from a group of people mocking me to people acting like I'm some kind of immortal being. Pen spinning doesn't attract as much attention as say yoyoing. Especially when it comes to doing it at P.E. there were some assholes. In fact I've never had someone hate on it outside of that class oddly enough. That got so many people's attention and it half got on my nerves half made me feel flattered. Most people thought it was cool but there's all ways that small few that get ego boost from talking down to other people. We shared our pe period with the freshman and for whatever reason some of them were super obnoxious. But I kept doing it because I enjoyed it. There's just always going to be haters, and that's fine :).
I'm sure some people thought "That's the dood who yoyos he mus hav no lif!" Since i would yoyo every day. But take a good look at those people. Aren't they always the same people who constantly bring people down? Are disrespectful? Some people just destroy because they can't build with all the hate in there heart.
    We'll that was kinda long

Tl;dr just ps whenever you want, who cares what people think.

so true lol, people kinda know im not a complete friendless loser, i don't get bullied for it too. if people say something against anything i do at school im always happy to make fun of stuff they do and their reasoning until they go away. if someone bullies you then make them wish they didnt. unless you ARE just a friendless nerd. yeah just don't be a friendless nerd i guess...lol that could be impossible im on a freakin pen spinning board...

lol for me Im generally liked by most people I meet so far and I can get along with everybody, but Im not exactly mainstream/popular or even social for that matter. Im just your somewhat typical tall asian nerd (although not that skinny and I dont wear glasses, braces, and so on), which is another thing that annoys me. Most people would typically be like "oh yeah cause your asian" so all the more it increases my rep as a nerdy asian kid who spins pens all day T.T I preferred it when people knew me as a magician (even though I only did cardistry) during elementary school but now that they dont give us more free time in highschool I end up ps more and thus became my reputation rip.

lol bad aproach dude. if people are steriotypical or racist i just be more so as a joke, make fun of yourself and if they piss you off too much like i said already, make them wish they didnt. i have a body guard (riv) so im safe lol. jk im just not hated. i tell them pen spinning is because im asian. i honestly don't give a damn.

ik I find it just as hilarious as the next person does, those jokes always crack me up XD

In fact Im proud to be asian, like a boss XD

another stereotype is that all asians know kung fu, true or not we can use that to beat the crap out of them if the annoy us, or better yet be a ninja with ya pen and stab them in the eye XD
